Experts talk about the ages 0 to 6 being the most critical for brain development. The brain architecture they build in that developmental window is the architecture the rest of their lifetime learning will be built on. I don’t know about you, but that thought makes me a little paranoid about making sure I am doing what I can to stimulate those brain connections!
I figure as long as I am doing the legwork to find stuff to use with my own children, I might as well share the ideas & resources I find, and our experiences as we try them out. Hopefully this will save some other mommies and daddies some of their precious time. My focus for now will be on preschool and toddler age as that is the age of my two boys: “Br” is currently 3 1/2 and “Bl” is almost 15 months (as of early June 2011).
Those same experts also talk about the importance of fostering a love of learning, encouraging learning at this age to feel like “play”.
Please let me know if you have any great ideas, tips, or resources!

Hmm is anyone else having problems with the pictures on this blog loading? I’m trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
This is the first report I have had of issues, but this is a very new blog…. Please let me know if you continue to have problems, and I’ll see if I can figure out what is going on.
Thanks for checking it out. I’d love any feedback!
